÷ How To Root HTC One A9 & Install TWRP Recovery Easily
1- On your computer download the following files: the su.zip file from
here, the SuperSU.zip package from
here and the compatible boot image for the model of your One A9 – for the AT&T model go
here, for the unlocked version go
here and for the EE model access
this page.
2- Download the compatible
TWRP recovery for your HTC One A9 .3- Now connect your smartphone with your computer with the help of the USB cable.Then, transfer the SuperSU file on your device.
4- Next, access the folder where you have installed Android SDK and from there open a command prompt window: press and hold Shift keyboard key while right clicking on any blank space.
5- In the cmd window first enter “adb devices” – your smartphone should be listed there; if not, reinstall its USB drivers before resuming the next steps.
7- Now, enter your HTC One A9 into download mode: in the cmd window type “adb reboot download”.
8- Next, flash the boot image by executing “fastboot flash boot bootimage name” – replace bootimage name with the version of the boot image you are using; for example “fastboot flash boot a9-att.img”.
9- Now, you have to flash the custom recovery image; so type “fastboot flash recovery recovery.img” – once more replace recovery.img with the TWRP recovery filename.
10- Good; now unplug the USB cord and power off your device.Wait a few seconds and then enter recovery mode.
11- From recovery, first wipe the system of your One A9 – select “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”.
12- Next, tap on Install and select the SuperSU file; flash it.When done, go to main menu of recovery and select “reboot system now”.
Everything should be working perfect now. Go to Google Play and download the
Root Checker app in order to make sure that everything went as planned.
